What’s happening
Epic Sum Up Free is transitioning to a paid app called ESU Lite, starting 5th October 2026.
The full version of ESU is not affected and will stay as is.
Why it’s happening
As we invest in continued support, SOC 2 compliance efforts and overall compatibility with Atlassian’s requirements, we’re no longer able to offer the app for free.
On Data Center our ongoing efforts include:

Data Center accreditations
On Cloud we just migrated the app from the deprecated Connect platform to Forge.
What this means for you
Teams with up to 10 users will be able to continue using ESU Lite completely for free. No action required.

What’s changing in ESU Lite
Your time progress bar keeps working exactly as it does today, with all existing epics intact.
What’s new is that admins can now also add:

A completed work items progress bar

A status category progress bar
